Job Summary: The Regional Safety Manager (RSM) is responsible for leading and managing the safety performance of RoadOne IntermodaLogistics employees, company drivers and Independent Contractors. The RSM will coordinate with our management team to conduct training related to DOT, OSHA, EPA and other regulatory required safety practices, policies and procedures. In addition, the RSM will provide guidance with corrective action safety training. The RSM will lead the company to improve driver and independent contractor relations by creating and implementing programs that focus on safety management and accident prevention.
Essential Functions:
- Promote the company image
- Develop and promote safe work behaviors within the company
- Foster and lead continuous improvement safety initiatives
- Maintain, reflect and improve RoadOne’s safety culture
- Support and implement effective safety programs including accident prevention, injury avoidance and cargo security
- Ensure compliance with DOT/FMCSA/OSHA safety rules and regulations
- Promptly investigate accidents/injuries and follow proper reporting procedures
- Conduct safety, orientation and remedial crash prevention training
- Manage and administer company Worker’s Compensation program
- Travel throughout assigned area to ensure compliance within the Service Centers and interface extensively with drivers and employees
- Work effectively with Safety, Operations and Recruiting Management in order to accomplish company/departmental goals
- Disseminate information to Service Center Managers, Executive Team and others regarding accidents, injuries, losses and other safety information
- Conduct regular safety meetings with company drivers, employees and independent contractors
- Perform security assessments to maintain CTPAT and CBSA certification
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements:
- Associate’s Degree preferred from a two year college or technical school
- DOT Trucking experience strongly preferred
- Strong problem-solving and reasoning ability
- Must have working knowledge of laws and regulations concerning safety, compliance and handling of hazardous materials
- Excellent communication; both written and verbal
- Self starter with strong organizational skills
- Knowledge of basic computer systems including Microsoft office programs
- Attention to detail and accuracy
- Independent contractor and company driver relations management experience required
- Team player with a positive attitude
- Motivate people through collaborative skills
- Ability to make tough decisions in timely manner
- Ability to excel in a fast paced environment
- Flexible time schedule to support organizational requirements
- Bi-lingual (Spanish) not required but preferred
Regulatory Knowledge to include:
- CSA Safety measurement system
- FMCSR’s, PHMSA & OSHA compliance
- Administration of driver hours of service requirements
- Accident and injury prevention
- Accident investigation (Root Cause Analysis)
- Travel required up to 50%

Pay: $55,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
