The Processing Technician/Trimmer is responsible for properly weighing, manicuring, and inspecting all cannabis flower intended for packaging. This position is an integral piece of the post-harvest process at Sira Naturals, ensuring that only the highest-quality, well-manicured cannabis flower is packaged for sale to our patients.
Removing fan leaves and trunks after harvest and in preparation for drying
Trimming/manicuring of cannabis flower continuously for shifts of 8 hours in an efficient and quality-focused manner
Inspect and weigh cannabis flower, stems, stalks, and fan leaves for input into inventory control software
Ensuring quality control post-harvest for a clean, seedless, pest and pathogen free final product
Reporting any instances of identifiable occurrence of mold, mildew, seeds, pests, or pathogens to the Processing Manager
Assist Processing Manager with any other tasks related to the post-harvest process as necessary
Assists in fostering a positive work environment, treating everyone with dignity and respect while perpetuating a curiosity for "everything cannabis"
Meticulous attention to detail and strong desire to produce a high-quality product
Able/willing to meet target production rates in grams per hour of trimmed cannabis flower buds
Must be 21 years of age or older as required by the Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission
Able to pass all background checks as mandated by Massachusetts Cannabis Control Commission
Maintain regular and punctual attendance
Experience trimming cannabis plants and flower (or cutting/trimming hair)
Experience working in a regulated environment
Experience working in a high-volume factory/continuous production line
Familiarity with agricultural hand tools
Experience in commercial food production or clean room processes
The person in this position will constantly be exposed to dust, kief, cleaning chemicals and fumes. Although systems are in place to remove these byproducts, there is still exposure to some degree.
Must be able to work on weekends or alternate shifts
Physical and Other Requirements:
Sitting, standing and walking motion/movement will be required throughout the shift (up to 10 hours)
Constant movement and use of hands/fingers and limbs; this position requires good manual dexterity, coordination and stamina.
Occasional lifting, positioning or moving items up to 50 pounds
