Financial services for the Grand Lodge and all related entities are provided through a “Shared Services” model, reporting to the Grand Lodge in San Francisco. The Chief Financial Officer is responsible for providing those financial services to all organizations, wherever located.
The position will analyze the financial operations of the Grand Lodge of California, Acacia Creek, Masonic Homes of California, California Masonic Foundation, California Masonic Memorial Temple, and the Nob Hill Masonic Center Inc.
The position is responsible for the preparation of the annual operating budget of the Grand Lodge and all related business entities as well as providing financial reporting, forecasting, and analysis on the financial activities of these entities.
Perform all duties as assigned in a timely, accurate, and professional manner. Respond to all clients and users of financial information with the highest level of service. Work as a member of the Shared Services Finance team to build strong business relations with all clients.
Participate in the process of analyzing, reviewing, and finalizing the monthly financial statements for all entities.
Prepare actual-to-budget variance analysis reports.
Generate financial reports and forecasts.
Assist with the timely month-end financial close for all entities.
Design and maintain analytical and financial reports for internal purposes for all entities.
Participate in the preparation of operating budgets and forecasts including revenue, staffing plans, labor-related and non-labor expenses for multiple entities.
Manage the Prophix budgeting and forecasting software system for all entities.
Maintain appropriate financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting files, records, and documents for all entities according to laws, regulations, and internal operating procedures.
Perform other duties as assigned or required. Support new strategic initiatives and various ad hoc projects.
BA/BS degree in accounting, business, finance, or related field is recommended but not required.
Seven+ years of accounting or finance experience including all major functions
(A/P, A/R, G/L, budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting, etc.).
Some non-profit, health care, or senior care experience desired, but not required.
Advanced computer skills including spreadsheet preparation, database management, and word processing (Microsoft Office – Excel, PowerPoint, and Word). Experience with accounting software programs such as Intacct and MatrixCare; experience with Budgeting and Forecasting Software Solutions such as Prophix, as well as Financial Reporting Software such as FRX and Intacct.
Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, and conditional formatting)
Expertise in data automation, data importing, and data aggregation
Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
Good communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle multiple tasks, set priorities, and meet deadlines.
Must be extremely well-organized and detail-oriented.
Desktop and/or laptop computer, 10-key calculator, telephone, office desk equipment, copier, fax, scanner.
