Richardson Electronics (REL) is a global provider of engineered solutions and electronic components to the electron device markets. This position is based in our corporate offices in Lafox, Illinois.
This is a tactical position. Assists the Product Manager in marketing of an assigned product or products. Administers the marketing practices for assigned product line. Provides product pricing and reviews inventory levels and customer demand and recommends any changes necessary to improve or increase sales and profitability. Works with sales on strategic accounts to increase product share and associated sell and helps with the development of engineered solutions.
Essential Job Functions:
Receives and completes requests for quotations from sales personnel. Negotiates pricing and delivery with the specific suppliers. Strategic quotations and follow-ups are executed in a timely manner.
Reviews inventory levels, min/max and supplier order schedule against customer orders and requests and recommends any changes necessary to increase sales and/or profitability while controlling risk.
Analyze reports and initiate actions as needed.
Updates information on product lines.
Directs testing/value added for inventory/backorder.
Assists Order Services, Customer Service and other related departments as required.
Assists Product Manager on special projects.
Provides technical assistance and application engineering or researches correct resource for the information when requested by the sales team.
Negotiates inventory purchases and works with purchasing to prepare all stock rotations with suppliers.
Assists in market planning.
Trains sales personnel on product line.
Computer entry on part numbers and cross reference information.
Communicates specific opportunities to the Product Manager where sales may be expanded.
Monitors sales activity and advises sales to follow up on target customers
Works with manufacturing on engineered solution opportunities. Identify and quote opportunities for engineered solutions. Assist sales in the identification of engineered solutions offerings by providing better alternatives to standard products.
Backs up for Product Management in their absence.

Three to five years sales and product marketing experience and knowledge of electronic components. Degree or diploma in engineering or equivalent technical degree is required. Highly motivated, ability to multi task and good communication skills.
