Position Summary:
Trupanion is seeking an experienced Technical Project Manager to manage critical information technology projects, build organizational relationships and provide leadership within the Project Management Office. Trupanion is the industry leader in the rapidly expanding pet medical insurance industry; this is a unique opportunity to play a key role in fast-paced, agile company.

Key Responsibilities Include:
As a Project Manager, your responsibilities will span multiple subject areas, including product development, business analysis, requirements gathering and project execution. Business enhancing projects you will be responsible for will drive operational efficiency and facilitate innovation across business units. The ability to take large, complex projects and break them down into manageable phases, develop functional specifications and then deliver them in a successful and timely manner are expected. Our ideal candidate is a highly motivated, team-oriented individual with experience in creating value in an environment that focuses on results over processes. As a Technical Project Manager on the team:
You will have start to finish ownership of cross-functional projects including, project definition, requirements gathering, project planning, risk management, resource forecasting, project execution, release management, change management, and vendor management
You will be responsible for making project decisions, and achieving project goals while retaining the ability to identify and take decisive action when a project needs to change direction to meet changing business needs
You will be the problem solver on the team, identifying creative solutions to project roadblocks and resolving issues and constraints by building consensus and exercising sound judgement.
You will work closely with the development team and play a leadership role in product design and ownership
You will be empowered to define project KPIs and develop methodology to measure and report on these KPIs
Qualifications (Please include a cover letter with your application!)

Basic Qualification:
5+ years of software management experience
Software development background, especially in custom software
Experience managing delivery of internal and external facing software
Experience with data analysis and business analysis processes
Must be able to think critically and possess strong analytical and problem solving skills
Ability to roll up your sleeves and operate as an individual contributor to get the job done; at the same time be able to lead a team to achieve a goal.
Must be pet friendly, willing and able to work in an environment with pets

Preferred Qualifications:
Experience coordination multi-team project development cycles and software development schedules
Experience in infrastructure management
Demonstrated excellence in start-up and mid-sized companies
