Title: After School Program Coordinator

Status: Part-time, non-exempt

Reports To: Thrive

Primary Functions of the Position

The After School Program Coordinator will manage the daily planning, curriculum and oversight of the program.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES

Academics and Accountability

Manages the scheduling of students in the after school program on infinite campus. Guides development, implementation, and evaluation of curriculum and instructional services.

Works with teachers in the preparation of curriculum and materials.

Engages in an ongoing evaluation of the effectiveness of the afterschool program through observations and youth program quality evaluations.

Works with building directors to ensure appropriate teachers and educators are in place to teach reading, math and enrichment.

Communicates on a regular basis with lead teachers for each grade level to ensure a complete understanding of curriculum and lessons for students.

Conducts analyses of instructional programs and materials, and works to assure that courses are designed with adequate attention to scope and sequence for effective learning.

Manages the after school data for reporting to the Executive Team.

Staff Development

Schedules students into grade level appropriate classes with collaboration with the Thrive Team and the math and literacy coaches. .

Supervises and coordinates the work of after school program staff, including lead teachers, teachers, education assistants, tutors, external staff and enrichment staff.

Works closely with Human Resource to track time for each staff to be paid appropriately and to communicate effectively and often with HR to ensure paperwork is completed correctly.

Other responsibilities

Performs such other tasks and assumes such other responsibilities as may from time to time be assigned by the Thrive Team.

Qualifications:
Bilingual Hmong and English Preferred

Bachelor of Arts Degree in education or related field; Master’s Degree Preferred
5-10 Years Experience Teaching or instructional work in a school district

3-5 Years Experience in Educational Administration
