Full Job Description
Synergy Settlement Services, helping injury victims transition from litigation to life, is currently seeking a person to join our team as a Medicare Set Aside Specialist.This person will be responsible for providing Medicare Set Aside (MSA) services to law firms, insurance companies, self-insured companies and third-party administrators.
This individual will have the ability to interpret medical records, analyze treatment plans, prepare pricing of future medical care and then prepare reports based upon findings. Specifically, the team member will provide MSAs and detailed future medical cost projections.

Some of the responsibilities will include:
Assess medical claim and legal records to provide an analysis of treatment patterns used to identify and compile future medical costs;
Independently research reliable medical sources for information used to project future medical needs;
Utilize resource databases for diagnoses, treatment guidelines, and prescription medication pricing, and document the MSA allocation when applicable;
Prepare Medicare set aside allocation reports, medical cost projections, non-Medicare expense reports and other similar analyses;
Handle submissions of MSA reports to CMS for approval, including interaction with Medicare contractors;
Handle client interactions with attorneys, adjusters, claims professionals and injury victims;
Review of settlement documents and suggested conditional payment and MSA language for releases;
The successful candidate will possess:
Registered Nursing (R.N.) or Juris Doctorate (J.D.) degree from an accredited college or university.
Possess a current MSCC or have the ability to obtain MSCC (Medicare Set-Aside Consultant Certified) Certification within first 6 months of employment.
At least 2-3 years of experience in the healthcare industry, medical or legal field.
Certified Life Care Planner (CNLP/CLCP) is a plus
Additional credentials such as CCM, CDMS or CRRN are also preferred
Highly Proficient in Microsoft Office
Demonstrable strong database management skills.
A high attention to detail and follow up.

Ability to multi-task and meet deadlines.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
