This Administrative Specialist I position serves as the Client Information Analyst. This position is primarily responsible for filing, maintaining, purging of all client records including the program, medical, and active records. Position may consult with professional staff, i.e.physician, nurse, psychologist, audiologist, communication therapist, etc., to ensure terms have been translated correctly. Job responsibilities include the following:
Maintains quality control over client records; ensuring client records are current, complete, readily accessible and consistent with policies, state and federal regulations, North Carolina General Statutes and Confidentiality Regulations in the Division of State Operated Healthcare Facilities (DSOHF).
Serves on a rotation schedule to input evening census into the HEARTS (Healthcare Enterprise and Accounts Receivable Tracking System) census/billing system.
Applies accurate ICD-10 codes to secondary diagnoses.
Translates diagnostic phrases used by the healthcare provider into coded form.
Salary Grade: GN06
Starting Salary: $31,200

Considerable knowledge of Medical Records.
Excellent typing, spelling, computer skills and knowledge of some medical terminology is essential.
Ability to communicate accurately, effectively and professionally with all personnel.
Experience in ICF/IID facility
Experience using ICD-10 coding
Must be able to bend, walk distances, and meet other requirements of the job as listed in the ADA checklist.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two years of related administrative experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Degrees must be from appropriately accredited colleges or universities.
