SJS Executives is currently seeking a talented Construction Manager for a position available in King's Bay, GA. Our ideal candidate must have experience in developing and maintaining complex, long term, multi-year program construction management activities including submittal and Request for Information (RFI) processing. We are also looking for a Construction Manager that has exeprience and familiarity with Federal building design criteria and construction guide specifications.
Coordinate requests from Construction Contractor and Client
Attend meetings and conferences. This task includes attending, taking notes, providing information to at the following meetings, conferences and briefings
Attend the preconstruction conference, which may occur at the beginning of each phase
Discuss any safety infractions committed by the construction Contractor, with information and to offer advice on safety matters related to the construction contract
Participate in weekly Quality Control Meetings meetings
Attend other conferences called to discuss partnering, scheduling, potential claims, Red Zone, specific areas of work or problems during the progress of the construction contract
Conduct construction progress briefings once every week
Provide review of submittals designated for approval
Provide construction schedule review/analysis and notes/comments/recommendations
Review and analyze the proposed Baseline Schedule, weekly 3-week look ahead schedules, monthly schedule updates, monthly Schedule Variance Control diagrams and associated reports.
Ensure Contractor compliance with contract scheduling requirements and accepted scheduling practices; validate Contractor schedule default settings are consistent with contract requirements.
Verify that the construction schedule accurately documents c. activity progress.
Verify that the construction schedule accurately shows the current plan to complete the remaining work.
Confirm that the Contractor is following the plan for construction shown on the construction schedule.
Provide schedule review comments and recommendations for acceptance
Provide early warning when projects begin to slide off schedule.
Identify schedule delay factors.
Provide possible solutions for mitigating schedule impacts.
Monitor resolution of scheduling issues
Attend project scheduling meetings
Prepare and submit project schedule status reports monthly.
Perform required analyses on schedule impact assessments and provide request for contract modification and equitable adjustment
Review the network for logic of dependencies, for logic of the critical path determined by the construction Contractor, and logic of durations, activity start and finish times and costs assigned to individual activities
Review the safety plan submitted. The plan shall be reviewed for compliance with the terms of the construction contract and comments provided in the form of a draft email/letter outlining any problems and providing recommendations to bring the plan into conformance
Review the QC Plan submitted by the construction contractor for compliance with contract
Report instances of non-compliance with safety requirements
Review and provide the CMO with recommended response to construction contractor’s RFIs
Complete the closeout checklist
Construction Manager Skill Set -
Knowledge of construction scheduling methods and familiarity with the use of scheduling software, including but not limited to Primavera Suretrak/P3/P6 and Microsoft Project
Proficiency in computer software programs such as Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Adobe Acrobat Professional; and RS Means/CostWorks
Average agility and dexterity - required to perform duties that involve moderate walking over rough, uneven or slippery surfaces, recurring bending, crouching, stooping, stretching, climbing ladders, walking up and down several flights of stairs or similar activities, recurring lifting of moderately heavy objects less than 50 lbs
Knowledge of construction practices and techniques, e.g., proper applications of construction materials and methods of installation
Bachelor's of Science Degree in Architectural or Engineering Degree - Required
OSHA 30 Certification - Required
United States Army Corp of Engineers Construction Quality Management Certification - Preferred
U.S. Citizen - Required
Valid Driver's License - Required
