Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Shift Leader to join our dynamic team. As a Shift Leader, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our casual dining restaurant during your assigned shift. You will work closely with our management team to ensure seamless service and maintain a positive work environment. This role is ideal for individuals with a passion for the food industry, strong leadership skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences.
Responsibilities:
- Manage and supervise kitchen and dining staff during your assigned shift
- Ensure that all kitchen operations are running efficiently, and that food is prepared to the highest standards
- Monitor cash handling and restaurant finances, and report any discrepancies to management
- Provide guidance and support to staff members, focusing on teamwork and customer satisfaction
- Maintain a clean and organized kitchen and dining area
- Implement hospitality management strategies to drive sales and improve customer loyalty
- Collaborate with the restaurant management team to achieve business objectives
- Manage kitchen inventory and ensure that orders are accurate and timely
- Conduct performance evaluations and provide constructive feedback to team members
- Maintain a positive and respectful work environment, and ensure that all staff members are following company policies and procedures
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in the food industry, preferably in a casual dining restaurant
- Proven leadership and supervising skills, with the ability to manage a team effectively
- Strong understanding of food management and kitchen operations
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with cash handling and restaurant finances
- Knowledge of hospitality management principles and practices
- Ability to work in a dynamic and stressful environment
- Physical stamina to stand for long periods and lift heavy objects
- High school diploma or equivalent required; post-secondary education in hospitality management or a related field is an asset.
