SENIOR MANAGER, PUBLIC AFFAIRS, LEADERSHIP COMMUNICATIONS

Senior Manager, Public Affairs, Leadership Communications:
This individual will drive Leadership Communications for the Commercial, Corporate Affairs and HR organizations as part of Gilead’s Leadership Communications team, partnering closely with senior leaders across the company. This position will join a three-person team responsible for all executive and functional communications at Gilead and will work collaboratively as part of the Corporate and Employee Communications group within the Public Affairs organization.

Help senior leaders advance communications strategy, thought leadership, storytelling and functional engagement.
Develop and manage comprehensive, multi-channel communications plans for senior leaders with a focus on both foundational and innovative approaches.
Support leaders with strategic communications planning, content development and execution across a range of communications channels, including digital/multi-media (blogs, videos, etc.), all-hands meetings and other platforms.
Provide communications counsel to leaders, in partnership with the Leadership Communications team, Public Affairs and Human Resources colleagues, to support organizational changes.
Work with senior leaders and their teams to shape agendas and create thoughtful content for key functional and corporate presentations, develop compelling key messages and prepare panelists/speakers.
Create communications strategies that consider the needs of various audiences and coordinate with cross-functional colleagues to ensure alignment and collaboration.
Identify and elevate compelling stories and important organizational developments to company-wide channels.
Plan and support major functional meetings, partnering with colleagues cross-functionally to consider and include remote audiences.

Knowledge, Experience and Skills:
Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Curiosity-driven with ability to provide counsel on communications strategy.
Experience in executive communications and reputation management.
Demonstrated experience working with senior leaders and producing high-quality communications materials under tight timelines.
Proven track record managing and prioritizing multiple projects simultaneously.
Team player with strong interpersonal skills and success working collaboratively within teams and cross-functionally.
Demonstrated project and budget management capabilities.
BA Degree in Communications, Liberal Arts, Business or Science-oriented field and minimum of 8+ years’ experience working in-house or in an agency in area of communications.
