Experienced Real Estate Photographer/Videographer
Aspen, Colorado- Full-time photographer/videographer with a growing real estate photography company in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. This is a long-term salaried staff position with generous benefits, including 401k, end of season bonus, health insurance stipend, ski pass and more (some benefits only available after 1-year full-time employment).
Though primary duties are photography, we have a strong preference toward someone with existing video, video editing, and drone piloting skills.
Must be willing to relocate to the Roaring Fork Valley area in Colorado. Living in a small resort-centric, semi rural area, isolated from big cities, isn't for everyone, and cost of living can be high. But, if you love engaging in outdoor activities summer and winter, Outside Magazine consistently ranks this area as one of the best places to live in America.
Submitting a real estate portfolio and cover letter is required for further consideration.
We’re looking for someone who has a proven eye for composition and details, knows interior lighting, and can adapt on location to get the job done. Strong interpersonal skills are needed for interacting with clients and homeowners.
Full understanding of strobe lighting and manual camera settings is an absolute must, as well as understanding interior lighting techniques and equipment. We have a lighting and accessory gear supply, but you do need to have core photographic equipment (video capable professional-grade DSLR camera capable of 1080/60 or better, quality lenses covering the full range from 17mm-120mm, high quality tripod, 1 or more flashes, computer capable of processing large photo files, smartphone), reliable high-speed internet, and reliable transportation suitable for all-seasons. Intermediate knowledge of Photoshop is important. Knowledge of Adobe Premiere (or other video editing software) is helpful. Bonus points if you have experience flying drones and are already FAA Part 107 certified.
The ideal candidate will enjoy the challenges and limitations that come with photographing small homes with very limited lighting equipment (enjoy doing the most with the least!) just as readily as photographing a multi-million dollar estate to the hilt. Understanding our ‘look’ and the ability to emulate it is key. Must possess the ability to accept critique and implement our guidance - not just in photography but in business conduct as well. Doing what it takes to make happy clients is something we live by.
A typical week could involve photography and/or video at 2-3 locations per day, aerial photography/video, editing, image delivery, building a stock photo/video collection - some of which could involve skiing and capturing the Rocky Mountain lifestyle : )
Providing quality photography/video, delivering excellent service, and impeccably representing our clients on location is our goal.
We work hard and long hours during the busy summer season (June-Aug), but have downtime during our slow off seasons. (Nov/early-Dec, mid-April/early-May). Full-time salaried position with bonuses and other benefits.
