POSITION SUMMARY

The Sr. Planning Analyst’s primary responsibilities include the creation of the demand plan based on Merchandising and Sales input, financial targets, historical data and the market trend and the development of the supply plan for a set of defined sourced factories based on most current capacity information and in line with global processes, procedures and supply requirements. This position is temporarily based in Logan, UT before Altra’s corporate headquarters relocate to Denver, CO in the coming year.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Analyze various inputs including Sales Orders, input from Merchandising and Sales and historical trend information to produce the most accurate demand forecast.
Develop the supply buy based upon demand inputs and other crucial supply planning criteria (inventory, capacity, buy readiness, and raw materials). Manually manipulate requirements to fit within capacity, ramps and/or resource anomalies (Chinese New Year, shutdown periods) as well as inventory ownership rules.
Responsible for timely and accurate execution of all weekly planning routines (forecast upload, review of plans, master scheduling, preparing buy upload, communicating of capacity variances etc.).
Support the Global Supply Planning process and address issues regarding drops, minimum issues, re-buy possibilities off cycle buys and ensure that vendor confirmation of buy quantities and ship dates are in line with PR creation.
Track the alignment between supply and demand to assure the timely availability of products globally for forecast requirements. Communicate and collaborate with Sales and Supply Chain to bridge gaps.
Contribute to the monthly S&OP meetings; highlight issues and provide the necessary information and monitor compliance with agreed upon actions.
Support the development of the Inventory Plan and forecast. Measure adherence to key measures and support corrective actions to comply with working capital plans.
Analyze and report out SKU productivity to inform the business and initiate action.
Ad hoc analysis and reporting as required.

SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS

Bachelor’s degree
2-3 years experience in a Corporate Supply Chain environment; demand or supply planning desired
Experience in Footwear and/or Apparel industry preferred
APICS certification is preferred but not required
Excellent communication (oral & written) skills
Strong organizational skills
High customer focus with the ability to drive for results
Ability to work/communicate with all levels of the organization
Develops collaborative and diverse relationships
Ability to understand, assess & problem solve by leveraging technical and analytical skills
Computer literate in a Windows environment: Excel, Word, Power Point. High proficiency in Excel is required
Must be knowledgeable in the operation of order management systems, SAP is preferred
Understanding of reporting tools is an asset (Cognos/Brio)
Experience with forecasting/planning tools is required, Logility/i2 experience is preferred
