Azure Sales Director – South East Region
The Azure Specialist Manager is a senior leader within our corporate sales organization. The Azure Specialist Manager leads, develops and manages a team of high performing Azure Specialists who may each focus on specific technology domains: Infrastructure, Data and AI, Application Development or the broad Azure Platform. The Azure Specialist Manager will focus the team to proactively engage with business and technical decision makers, identify business opportunities which leverage the power of Azure, and move through the sales process to the solution.
The Azure Specialist Manger will coach their team to generate Azure consumption revenue and increase market share by successful identifying customer opportunities and developing them into solutions built using Microsoft Azure, Azure Data Services, Azure App Services and other related products and technologies. This leadership role will report directly to the East Region corporate accounts general manager.
The Director is expected to deliver leading results across quarterly quota attainment, deal-level forecast accuracy, pipeline coverage and management, win/loss reviews, learnings and opportunity plan coaching and reviews.
Lead sellers to achieve revenue and consumption targets through new business opportunities, engagements and leading technical solution demonstrations to win the technical decision
Sales Leadership- the ideal candidate will bring strong enterprise-level sales leadership experience to effectively engage with current and prospective customers as part of the Microsoft sales team. The Director will be able to develop strong executive relationships at these customers and help coach employees to advance sales cycles.
Business leadership- ability to develop and execute segment and industry growth plans that align to the business applications solution area. This will include partnering effectively across teams with the Sales Center Specialist Team Unit, US Marketing & Operations team, One Channel Partner team and Dynamics product teams to bring forward and solve sales blockers and to deliver the right resources at the right time to our opportunities.
The Director must be able to attract, build, inspire and lead great, diverse teams to deliver strong revenue and scorecard performances. This candidate will be highly skilled in coaching sellers on deal strategy and overall sales excellence.
Coach Seller’s with a “challenger mentality” by prompting Seller’s to engage early and lead with new insights on how to grow the customers’ business
Bring together Microsoft solutions with Partner solutions, to deliver value to our customers
Engage local and global partners proactively to accelerate delivery to our customers
The ideal candidate understands how to effectively engage with senior executives at our Azure Partners to align sales strategies that enable our joint businesses to scale and grow
Build credibility as a domain ‘thought-leader’ representing Microsoft in all engagements
Build and transform new markets and identify and lead transformational shifts in our customers
Lead from the front, personally engaging at CxO level to support and coach teams on opportunity discovery and acceleration
Drive cross-team collaboration in Microsoft, to bring the best that Microsoft has to offer to all our customers
8-10 years of experience developing high-performing enterprise software platform / cloud platform sales teams and a proven track record of exceeding team quotas/targets at large Software and Cloud Services companies involving cloud application modernization and migration, datacenter modernization and migration, ERP application on cloud, High Performance Compute, and related infrastructure solutions
Record of exceeding team quotas/targets
Management. Successful management of large-scale, complex deal cycles and previous experience managing people and their professional skills development; highly skilled at hiring, coaching and development. Has experience running a Profit & Loss, with a discipline and rigor to the management of the business
Coaching direct reports in pipeline management, opportunity management, and account planning
Strong relationship-building and negotiation skills
Excellent Communicator. Executive level communication skills (both written and verbal), organizational, creative, and collaborative skills, and the ability to mentor others
Technical Knowledge. Possess both business acumen expertise and technology knowledge to connect how customer business issues impact their IT environments
Certifications. Azure Admin Associate or Architect required
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a similar information technology-related discipline, or in Business Administration, or relevant job experience required.
Master’s degree preferred
Certification in sales, sales management, complex sales training, sales methodologies, broad evangelism through events (presentation skills), and consultative selling preferred
Additional training or education in Enterprise Architecture preferred
