Job Summary:
Under the direction and supervision of the Patient Care Supervisor, responsible for the transportation of patients and participates in total direct patient care when needed in a team approach. The clinical assistant must have the ability to work therapeutically in a community of emotionally and/or chemical dependent patients. Primary responsibility includes safe transportation of patients, patient belongings and assisting, as needed, with basic patient care on the units. Observing patients and maintaining patient safety, assisting patients with activities of daily living, both physical and emotional, and with meeting team objectives. Demonstrates the knowledge and skills necessary to provide care appropriate to the age of the patients served. Participates in the transportation and delivery of patients from and to appropriate destinations, transportation and delivery of labs, medications and supplies within the Forrest Health system, distribution of linens throughout Pine Grove’s patient care areas, occasionally will distribute mail and other supplies, equipment or furniture as needed to other departments. Responsible for the distribution and searching of patient belongings and body searches and assisting as needed with basic patient care on the units. Maintenance of vehicles; departmental paperwork and reports. Must have complete requirements to safely drive hospital vehicles. Performs all other job duties as assigned. Complies with all departmental and hospital policies.

- Demonstrate the willingness and ability to actively participate in helping achieve the objectives of the department; able to work independently as well as with a team
- Demonstrate the ability to complete all required trainings and/or certifications and attend all required meetings
- Demonstrate the ability to be flexible with changing priorities; able to tolerate high stress situations / mental demands and collaborate with the Patient Care Supervisor to make decisions that are ethically and legally sound
Qualifications:
Education/Skills
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Customer service skills, good communication skills and transportation experience preferred.
Work Experience:
One year experience in health care setting desirable.
