What You’ll Get to Do:
As the Mobile/Web Application Performance Tester, you will be responsible for the functional testing, usability testing, and accessibility testing for the DHS web products.
In this role you will be part of a high performing, agile development team working with customer product managers supporting existing web application and web re-design efforts.
This candidate will develop and execute testing procedures, performing accessibility audits based on Section 508, documenting detailed findings on identified issues, and recommending potential solutions.
More About the Role:
Writes and executes test scripts for automated testing of website design, functionality, content, and related testing specifications for efficiency and immediate alerts of failure in quality
Plans and implements appropriate tests to ensure stability and smooth operations throughout product lifecycle with specialty tests through system changes
Proactively finds and addressees issues from assisting with local development environments through production systems
Works collaboratively with leads, developers, project managers, and graphics teams
Performs quality assurance analysis including the development of appropriate automated testing scripts, manual reviews, and coordination with leads and other stakeholders to ensure the websites and related products perform and tests validate according to agency requirements
Attains DHS accessibility training including web trusted tester accreditation to ensure websites and products are testing and validated as accessibility compliant according to Section 508.
Ensures websites are compliant with DHS mandates, policies, and guidelines such as adhering to Section 508 Accessibility laws, IT regulations, complying with standard operating procedures and program processes as determined by leadership, etc.
Maintains DHS required 508 certifications such as trusted tester
Brings a collaborative, team-centric attitude and enthusiasm that encourages outreach and partnership
You’ll Bring These Qualifications:
Ability to obtain a DHS Entrance on Duty (EOD)
12 Years Applicable Experience or Equivalency (equivalency includes MA + 3 years applicable experience, BA + 6 years applicable experience or AA + 8 years applicable experience)
Proficient using an automated testing technology such as Protractor and/or Selenium
A minimum of 3 years’ experience with mobile/web testing
A minimum of 2 years’ experience testing for 508 accessibility compliance
Proficiency with MS Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Visio).
Strong initiative to proactively establishing relationships, finding opportunities to innovate and improve value, as well as providing new ideas for improvement.
Able to understand the day-to-day operational needs of customers and identify areas for improvement in business processes and propose solutions.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
