Position Summary:
The Product Manager is responsible for product planning and execution throughout the product lifecycle including: gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements by on-going engagements with customers and non-customers; translating requirements into use cases and functional requirements; developing business cases to justify development efforts; performing acceptance and ad-hoc functional testing of new features; conducting usability tests; developing sales tools (including product presentations, competition decks and data sheets); working closely with engineering, sales, support and others in marketing to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met; acting a product evangelist and customer advocate. The Product Manager’s job also includes ensuring that the product supports the company’s overall strategy and goals.

Drive the product definition process from concept through launch for new products, product upgrades and improvements to existing products.
Leverage customer insights and market knowledge (market perceptions, competitive analysis, market research, etc.) to help identify, test, and refine product concepts and work with other business units to successfully take products to the market, improve Dispersive’s position, and offer fact-based analysis. Conduct primary market research and synthesize research into key points, with a particular focus on the competitive landscape.
Ensure solutions are of the highest quality with a highly intuitive user experience.
Monitor solutions’ economic and financial performance.
Define a structured process for product development to ensure successful launches/upgrades.
Proactively gather requirements and use cases from internal and external technical and business stakeholders’ at all organizational levels.
Translate high-level business requirements into detailed functional specifications for technical development activities.
Prioritize requirements while balancing complex technical and business requirements, define tradeoffs, and develop business case justification and financials to support product development/improvement.
Coordinate activities across business, engineering, operations, sales and support teams.
Deliver products on time and on budget.
Craft value propositions that are crisp, compelling, and competitively positioned.
Facilitate broad collaboration with clear communications and documentation.
Support the sales process (e.g., develop materials for the sales team, provide product sales experience, input for RFPs, etc.)
Recommend pricing strategies.
Coordinate activities relating to product certifications.
Support activities relating to patent and trademark /service mark protection.

Education/Experience:
A Bachelor’s degree in a technical discipline is required; Master’s degree, preferably MBA, is strongly desired
At least one year of experience as a User Experience Designer, User Experience Architect or Human Factors Engineer

Skills:
Demonstrated success in developing and launching profitable, complex technology products for networking/software products
Experience in effectively managing solutions through key stages of the product lifecycle
Strong planning and organizational skills
Ability to multi-task and manage multiple priorities.
Project management expertise preferred
Experience in creating and maintaining business partnerships and relationships
Results-oriented business leader.
Proven ability to use problem solving and analytical skills to build fact-based business cases.
Collaborate, influence and direct with internal/external customers and/or business colleagues
Exceptional verbal, written, presentation and interpersonal communications skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, small and large

Technical/Computer Skills:
Must have strong knowledge and skills relating to TCP/IP and UDP and be well versed in the technical attributes and applications of technologies that include: Cloud Computing, Virtualization, Network Security, and MPLS.
Advanced skills with Microsoft Excel (ability to use functions, develop macros, create formulae, and create data filters.)
Advanced skills with Microsoft Visio
Above average abilities with Microsoft Word and Microsoft PowerPoint
Ability to use Adobe Creative Cloud products (including Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop)
Adept at active listening, and ability to explain technical concepts in simple, easy-to-understand language.
