Enterprise Community Partner’s Detroit office is committed to strengthening communities by ensuring that everyone can live in an affordable home connected to good schools, transit and health care. We do this through capital solutions, policies and programs. The Detroit market is one of Enterprise’s strongest offices across the country and provides thought leadership in response to critical social issues. This internship is an excellent opportunity for a student interested in gaining experience related to affordable housing and community development.
Specifically, the Detroit office has identified four priority areas. These are: equitable transit oriented development, sustainability, health and housing, and preservation of naturally occurring affordable housing. The internship will focus on one or more projects related to these four priority areas along with assisting in other office activities as needed.
Researching public and private information resources
Liaison with community partners, residents and other stakeholders
Providing logistical support to complete assigned tasks
Oral and written presentation of findings
Full work-week during the summer (8 - 10 weeks June – Aug. 2018) with the possibility of continuing after the summer for 2-3 days per week. (approximately 14-20 hrs. per week)

Salary range: $15 – 18
Must be current Graduate student preferably in Urban Planning, Public Policy, Public Administration, Social Sciences, etc. or related
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Ability to succeed in a fast-paced, team-oriented and independent atmospheres
Understanding of community development issues
Proficiency with Microsoft Office
Strong interest and commitment to community development with personal and lived experiences preferred.
