Retail Pricing Analyst

Currently, Meijer is looking for a Pricing Analyst I. The Analyst-I position is an experienced position on the Pricing Execution team. This role is responsible for applying corporate price strategies and analytics for a specific group of categories in order to optimize Meijer’s price position, sales, and margin. This role is responsible for using various data sources and analytic techniques to assess the effectiveness of current price strategies, ideate and model alternatives, and present recommendations to merchant leaders to influence change and drive business results (sales, margin, and profit).

Key Deliverables:
Responsible for ensuring that pricing strategies are executed consistently and in alignment with product and promotional strategies as well as Federal, State and Local regulations for a group of assigned categories
Apply statistical models and/or various analytical techniques to evaluate the effectiveness of current pricing strategies looking at competitors’ pricing strageies, market/customer trends, and company performance
Utilize advanced pricing response models for strategic merchandising initiatives
Partner with merchandising leaders to develop and refine pricing strategies that support individual category targets; model proposed changes to forecast the impact on sales, margin, and customer metrics
Effectively communicate pricing and promotional trends and supporting analytics to pricing, merchandising, and marketing leadership
Evaluate and recommend supporting pricing analytics and scorecards necessary to drive business growth and pricing effectiveness
Serve as subject matter expert advising the development of new pricing system and process enhancements
Implement pricing system enhancements and processes that will govern lifecycle pricing management and enhance financial, promotional, channel, competitive, and customer visibility
Apply category analytical tools that encompass pricing data, consumer trends, customer segmentation, loyalty, and competitor insights
Apply fact based analytics and reporting that are necessary to strengthen pricing recommendations that drive bottom line results
Educate and influence business partners to improve understanding and reliance on advanced analytics in making pricing decisions
Develop pricing strategy presentations and communicate them to merchandising leadership

Bachelor’s Degree in Statistics, Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration or commensurate retail experience required
2 years of business experience in an analytics field or related professional environment. Retail or consumer facing industry preferred
Proficient in a wide range of analytical, quantitative, and statistical techniques and tools to derive insights from large, complex data environments
Exceptional ability to extract strategic insights from large data sets
Excellent communication skills: listening, verbal and written
Strong organizational, planning, and time management skills
Strong work ethic complemented with a positive, can-do attitude
Office computer skills required: preference for Microsoft application experience
Advanced regression modeling and Advanced Excel skills preferred
Experience with statistical analysis software packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS, Stata) preferred
Ability to learn company systems and tools
