Responsibilities & Requirements
The Officer II is responsible for:
Under the direction of the Director/Manager of Security and/or shift supervisor the officer maintains a safe and secure environment for all persons visiting the Medical Center.
The officer fulfills the duties of a security officer and/or security dispatcher as well as parking garage cashier and other duties as assigned.
Completion of High School or equivalent
Ohio Private Police Training (OPOTA) certification or equivalent.
ASP Police Baton Certification
Valid Driver’s License
Ability to follow written and oral instructions.
Good communication skills, both oral and written
Ability to deal with and to communicate tactfully and effectively all people under stressful circumstances.
Ability to meet the standards established by the Medical Center.
Ability to learn and operate computers, computer based dispatching and report writing, and operate proprietary central fire system and/or other computer based systems when needed.
Has knowledge of principles and methods of maintaining building and ground security.
Ability to investigate incidents fully dealing with victims, witnesses and suspects in a tactful manner, and filing a thorough report of the incident.
Ability to handle money transactions.
Ability to accept change and constructive criticism.
