Positions available for both Head Gardeners and Assistant Gardeners. Chimney Rock is a small, detail-oriented, organically-minded landscape maintenance company based in Cornwall, CT. We are looking for talented gardeners and horticulturists with great work ethic to join our crew. We maintain a variety of properties throughout Litchfield County with a focus on quality, efficiency, and individualized service.
We are looking for full time and part time gardeners to join our team for the upcoming gardening season from mid-March through mid-December.
Positions are also available with our partner-company, Chimney Rock Construction, in the areas of carpentry, lawn care, painting, equipment operators and drivers and snow removal.
References required.
Example of Typical Tasks:
- perennial and annual plant care
- ornamental grass and shrub pruning
- perennial, tree, and shrub planting
- planting, maintaining, and watering containers
- invasive plant management
- spring and fall garden and property clean up
Ideal candidate will have:
- Previous experience (ideally two years) with fine gardening and an existing knowledge or desire and ability to learn about plants and horticultural practices
- Ability to work with a positive attitude both in a team and independent setting
- Ability to anticipate and prepare for daily tasks
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
- Ability to perform physical field work and lift up to 40 pounds
- Willingness to work in all weather
- Ability to Frequently kneel and bend knees and back

Pay: $18.00 - $28.00 per hour
