Seeking an Experienced Mechanic to train as future Foreman.

Overview:
The Company Tech level 3, which is an experienced mechanic in our company, is responsible for executing the day-to-day operations of the Shop or Mobile service department (as assigned) of Fleet Mobile Services LLC. This position works in conjunction with a team of technicians to ensure efficient and effective service completion. The primary goal of this role is to maintain work orders issued and complete assigned orders with efficiency and quality.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Management:
- Assist Tech level 1 and 2 with repair. Instructing team members on repair procedures.
- Manage daily work assignments and manage work order efficiency as assigned by foreman.
- Lead by example to ensure team members are meeting the performance standards set forth by the Service Manager.
- Foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
Customer Service:
- Interact with foreman to understand their current service needs and address any concerns or complaints.
- Ensure that assigned service requests are managed promptly and professionally.
- Monitor customer satisfaction levels and advise Foreman to improve service quality and changing customer needs.
Workflow Management:
- Coordinate incoming repair requests and allocate resources efficiently to minimize wait times.
- Prioritize repair and maintenance jobs, in conjunction with Service Manager, based on urgency and available resources.
- Help to maintain all equipment and maintain customer site or shop site cleanliness.
- Diagnose and repair work orders and assist other technicians with repairs.
- Inform Foreman of all parts needed for applicable jobs.
- Maintain adequate and sufficient mobile or shop supplies and stock needed.
Technical Support:
- Provide technical expertise and guidance to other service technicians as needed.
- Diagnosing complex mechanical issues and developing repair solutions.
- Be proficient in Diagnostic Software training and usage.
- Have proficient level of semi-truck and trailer repair.
Management:
- Have general knowledge of shop and/or mobile departmental expenses and assist foreman to identify opportunities to minimize costs and improve profitability.
- Complete part and supply purchases as directed by Foreman.
- Frequently update job and repair CMMS with repair status and parts costs.
- Willing to train as a future foreman and fill-in for foreman as needed.
Quality Assurance:
- Enforce quality control procedures directed by Service Manager and/or Foreman to ensure service work meets company standards and customer expectations.
- Complete regular training sessions to identify areas for improvement and address any quality issues promptly.
- Assist with technician levels 1 and 2 to make sure they are properly equipped with the tools and training for the assignments they are given.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma
- Proven 2-3 years experience in a similar role, in the automotive, heavy equipment, or machinery industry.
- Prefer certifications in First Aid, CPR, Hazmat, and/or Diesel Repair.
- Strong leadership and communication skills.
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
- Valid driver’s license.
- Knowledge of industry equipment and parts.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.
- Must Have completed all requirements for Tech 1 and Tech 2.
- Must have been a Tech 2 for minimum of 6 months.
- Must Have completed all training requirements for Tech 3 provided by company.
Work Environment:
Duties are usually performed in a garage / shop environment include travel in personal or company vehicle and business activities at customer locations. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate to loud.
Work Schedule:
Normally, 5-day/week 7:00a-4:00p scheduled workweek; additional hours as needed to meet current metrics.
