The Project Manager leads cross-functional projects to bring product improvements and new products to market for our Sports Medicine business and ensures they meet the clinical needs and quality expectations of our customers. This individual plays a critical role in driving projects forward in a predictable and expedient manner, while staying accountable to timeline, budget, resources and risk management. The Project Manager has direct responsibility for keeping the Senior Leadership Team informed of project status; this individual must inspire confidence in the team’s ability to execute. This team member is a valuable contributor to how quickly and effectively we can move our products to market to serve our customers and patients!
What You Will Do
Project Management & Team Leadership
Lead project teams to bring product improvements and new products to market for our Sports Medicine business.
Manage the project timeline, budget, resources, and risks to meet design control requirements and follow the Sports Medicine Business Process.
Lead project teams of varying size/scale and complexity with strategic focus on the most efficient path to completion. Identify opportunities during the course of project management and seeks out creative solutions that may be implemented systemically.
Promote a culture of project management and accountability across the team. Engage team members and motivates them to get the job done.
Direct responsibility for keeping the Senior Leadership Team informed of project status; help drive Portfolio investment strategy.
Able to communicate effectively to all levels of the organization. Build credibility through effective and proactive relationship management and stakeholder management.
Proactively manage and mitigate project risks. Facilitate timely and data-driven decision-making to support the project timeline and budget, engaging stakeholders and leaders, as needed.
Predictive understanding of impacts of decisions throughout organization.
What You Will Need
Demonstrated emotional intelligence and ability to collaborate with R&D, Quality, Manufacturing, Regulatory, Clinical, and Marketing to ensure project success.
Passion: This leader needs to be constantly thinking about how to drive predictability in product development, and how to continuously improve the practice of project management.
Collaborative: The default state of the leader needs to be collaborative, open and curious.
B.S. in Mechanical, Biomedical, Electrical Engineering, or related curriculum
5+ years of related project management experience.
Experience working in a regulated environment; knowledge of medical device quality systems, manufacturing and design controls is preferred.
Proven track-record: experience successfully launching a product as a project manager.
Ideal candidate will have had hands-on design or related engineering experience prior to becoming a project manager.
Proficient in Microsoft Project; experience creating and regularly maintaining project timelines.
Understands the basic principles of minimally-invasive surgery.
