Position: Private Cloud Architect

About the Role:
We have an immediate opening for an Architect in our R&D organization, primary focus being storage and systems. We have various projects initiatives in our MCP (Managed Cloud Platform) that are being developed and we need a technical hands-on Architect to be responsible for the architecture design and how we will orchestrate the installation, configuration, deployment of various services in our cloud. The Architect will provide strategic vision and work with our Product team and developers to complete the vision of a product/service, evaluate different technologies for achieving the product/service and finally lead and implement said product/service. The Architect will provide direction to the teams during solution realization and work as intermediary across delivery streams throughout all the regions to ensure overall alignment. Be proactive in making changes necessary to the solution architecture triggered by changes in business requirements, technical requirements, develop options to incorporate the changes in a transparent manner. The Architect must be able to work across all levels of staff including executives, architects, engineers, and developers.
The scope of work includes, but is not limited to:
Research, test products and solutions for evaluation of use in new Dimension Data products or enhancing existing products.
Design, deployment and ongoing support of Managed Hosting & Cloud Storage infrastructure.
Provides advanced technical and engineering support for internal groups and customers.
Research new technologies and recommend changes to existing infrastructure and products.
Writes and revises documentation and procedures, do training of designed solutions.
Independently lead or execute complex design assignments and deliverables.
10+ years of proven experience of Systems and cloud solution architecture.
Design the end-to-end functional landscape and cloud solution design.
Experience in Linux/Unix is required.
Experience of HCI technologies (Nutanix, VSAN etc) is highly preferred.
Experience with Virtualization, specifically in VMware is required .
Experience in Storage technologies (EMC, Netapp, Pure, Solidfire, Rubrik) is preferred.
Experience in Storage replication & technologies used in Disaster Recovery is preferred.
Experience with automation/scripting/devops (Python, Powershell, NodeJS, Ansible, Cheff) are highly preferred.
Experience in automating system and application builds (Ansible, Puppet, Chef, Terraform) is highly preferred.
Experience working with web service based API’s (REST, SOAP) are required.
Experience with switching (l2/l3 designs) advantageous.
Excellent written and oral communication skills are a requirement.
Professional certifications in above mentioned technologies are preferred.
Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent experience required
