We are growing and seeking an experienced canine trainer to support our mission! As a trainer you will evaluate shelter dogs to determine their potential for service dog training. You will fully train the selected canines to program standards, team with Veteran handlers and assist with a successful transition to full team relationship of dog & veteran.
Part-time Opportunities Available
Candidates should possess the following qualifications:
o 2+ years of canine training experience (personal dog does not qualify)
o AKC CGC® Approved Evaluator, strongly desired
o Positive Reinforcement training
o Strong work ethic, reliable, honest, and most importantly, a passion not only for dogs but Veterans
o Computer skills with the ability to create and update dog training records and videos
o Ability to work during peak traffic periods including weekdays, weekends and nights
o Must have valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
o Must interact with the public in a professional manner
o Must have or be able to obtain liability insurance
o Must be willing to transport canines with the organization’s vehicles
