Job Title: Accounting Manager Division/Department: Finance

Reports to: VP, Finance & Administration FLSA Status: Exempt


The Accounting Manager manages the accounting department providing information, primarily financial in nature, about all company activities including periodic financial reports, maintenance of an adequate system of accounting records, and a comprehensive set of controls and budgets designed to mitigate risk, enhance the accuracy of reported financial results, and ensure that reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles and financial reporting standards.



Oversees the activities of the Accounting Department for the accurate and timely dissemination of financial management reports including, but not limited to, internal and external monthly financial statements, and annual audits and annual budgets
Oversees disbursement activities, ensuring the accurate and timely processing of accounts payable, purchase orders, petty cash, core employee expense reports, cash control, core payroll processing and total corporate payroll tax compliance
Oversees the activities of Accounts Receivable to ensure the accurate and timely management of all Accounts Receivable aging components including billings, cash receipts application, etc; funding service management which includes weekly funding reports and customer service; quarter and year-end payroll closing including federal and state reports; and check statistic management
Supervises the accounting staff and operations on a day to day basis to ensure accurate and timely recognition of financial transactions.
Answers employee questions, resolve work related problems and interprets PHLCVB policies to staff to improve the quality and quantity of work performed.
Acts as primary liaison between PHLCVB staff and finance staff to resolve operational issues and questions.
Supports Vice President of Finance with research, special projects and requests.
Trains staff in use of new and revised accounting and payroll software in a timely manner.
Oversees processing of bi-weekly payroll expenses schedules; post payroll expense to the general ledger to ensure all expenses are tracked in an accurate and timely manner.
Performs preliminary review of departmental general ledgers on a monthly basis to facilitate financial statement preparation.
Monitors daily cash flow to determine cash expenditures for the day to include signing checks as authorized initials wire transfers and drafts as needed.
Ensures the prepare of monthly schedules for the balance sheet account balances to general ledger and review journal entries to recognize activities in the proper period in an accurate and timely manner.
Reviews reconciliations of all bank accounts; records account maintenance fees, interest income and merchant fees each month.
Performs other accounting tasks and projects as assigned.


Coordinate the preparation of the corporate annual report
Calculate variances from the budget and report significant issues to management
Coordinate the provision of information to external auditors for annual audit
Monitor debt levels and compliance with debt covenants
Provide financial analyses as needed


Accounts Payable Clerk, Payroll/Accounts Receivable Manager


Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance plus CPA or CMA certification. Must have 5 years of hands-on accounting managerial experience

Excellent general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, income tax and banking working knowledge
Excellent organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines
Strong managerial abilities
Must have knowledge of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, iDSS)
