Baylor Scott & White Health laboratory is hiring Medical Technologists/ Molecular Biologist.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, perform high complexity molecular testing of clinical samples in a high volume clinical laboratory
Responsibilities include nucleic acid purification, PCR, Real-Time PCR, Sanger and Next Generation sequencing methods.
Collaborates on new assay development, including validation design, testing, document control and cost analysis.
Maintains record keeping in compliance of CAP and ASHI/CLIA regulatory requirements
Adheres to strict protocols required for clinical testing and quality control
Troubleshoot instrument and assay technical issues if they arise
BS in medical technology, clinical laboratory science or biological science
MB (ASCP) CM certified or eligible
1-3 years of clinical molecular biology experience
Extensive knowledge of molecular biology principles and molecular biology techniques including PCR and DNA sequencing
Possess bench skills that adhere to Good Clinical Laboratory Practice standards
Must be organized, self-motivated, analytical and have excellent communication skills
Must thrive in a fast-paced environment and have the ability to adapt to changes in the work load
Experience with Next Generation Sequencing platforms
Experience with RNA extraction, cfDNA extraction and human lymphocyte subpopulation isolation
Experience with robotics, automated liquid handling systems and flow cytometry basics
Experience with new assay development
The ideal Medical Technologist candidate will be collaborative, detail-oriented and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. 2 YEARS EXPERIENCE PREFERRED

Bachelors Degree in a Clinical lab Science; Chemical, Physical or Biological
o preferred Bachelors Degree in Medical Technology
Certified Medical Technologist
o certification must be issued by either the American Society of Clinical Pathology OR American Medical Technologist
Certified Clinical Laboratory Scientist
o certification must be issued by either the National Credentialing Agency for Laboratory Personnel Organization OR American Association of Bio Analysts
Internship in an approved Medical technology training program or 2 Years Experience Preferred
