The City of Chandler, Arizona is conducting a national search for COMMUNITY SERVICES DIRECTOR the next leader to oversee all aspects of the its Community Services Department. This is an exciting career opportunity to lead an exceptional department that consists of Library Services, Parks Development and Maintenance, and Recreation. The ideal candidate will have a proven record of proactive, participative management experience and possess excellent relationship building skills coupled with excellent project management, communication, problem solving and leadership skills.

The Community Services Department is responsible for parkland acquisition, park planning, design/development, and maintenance of 1,242.19 acres of developed parkland and 65 individual park sites. The Recreation Division provides year-round programs that include adult sports leagues and tournaments, youth sport camps, special events, instructional classes, and programs for youth, teens, senior citizens, and people with disabilities. The division operates the Chandler Community Center and Senior Center, Snedigar Recreation Center and Snedigar Sportsplex, Espee Bike Park, Snedigar Skate Park, Paseo Vista Archery Range, Tumbleweed Recreation Center and Tennis Center, and Veterans Oasis Environmental Education Center, among other facilities. In addition, the Aquatics division operates and maintains six aquatic centers and five fountains.

The City operates four public libraries throughout the City, two on shared campuses with the Chandler Unified School District.

The salary range for this position is $121,717 - $179,137 annually. The starting salary will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. In addition to the base salary, the City offers an excellent benefits package, see the link above for more details.
