The North America Co-pack Accountant is responsible for financial transactional support, reporting, and pricing relating to the North American Co-pack business. This position is tied to the company initiative to grow our Contract Manufacturing business. This position reports to the Co-Pack Finance Manager, Commercial Finance. The role responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Run month end inventory reports by customer to complete month end billing for Co-pack warehousing fees. Create and maintain sufficient documentation support for customers and for audit purposes.
Complete miscellaneous billings or credits as required. For example this may include debits relating to special contractual terms like equipment purchases funded by co-pack customers.
Assist Managers with reconciling Co-pack related general ledger accounts; deferred revenue, and miscellaneous receivables.
Communicate with Co-pack customers regarding billing including providing customers with supporting documentation. In addition communicate regarding any billing discrepancies.
Assist in supporting the Sales Account Managers, Plant Controllers, and Account Receivable teams in research, troubleshooting, and resolving Co-pack related issues.
Complete any required Co-pack related journal entries and account reconciliations including supporting documentation. This may include accruals for month end fees or billing corrections.
Produce monthly co-pack transaction reporting. This includes an itemization of the monthly fees by customer for month end variance reporting
Assist Managers with running co-pack reporting in order to highlight areas of concern for timely management actions. This includes detail of Pay at Production billing and shipping transactions impacting the deferred revenue account.
Partner with the Co-pack Sales team and other various cross functional departments to develop pricing strategies
Work with Supply Chain Finance and Plant Operations to understand plant capabilities, capacities, and cost structures to understand the impact on pricing and profitability as well as potential alternatives for the customer.
Analyze volume, mix and pricing changes within customers and key categories, Summarize trends with respect to performance vs Prior Year, Forecast and Plan, and work with FP&A and the Commercial team to accurately reflect those trends into the Budget/Forecast.
Support Managers in providing training & documentation on co-pack. This may include highlighting process issues identified through the deferred revenue reporting and reconciliation.
Produce reporting and documentation support relating to Co-pack audit requests.
Maintain SOPs on the co-pack process within area of responsibility. This includes documentation on creating month end debit memos and miscellaneous debit memos and credit memos.
Identify process improvements to minimize risk and improve efficiencies within area of responsibility.
Other ad hoc reporting and projects as required.
BA/BS- Accounting/Finance or degree in process
Manufacturing/Inventory experience desirable
Ability to work in a fast paced environment
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
SAP experience desirable
Physical: Regular requirements to sit and enter data in the computer.
