Research, develop, manage, and execute individual and foundation solicitation plan. Be accountable for annual and increasing fundraising goals. Partner with the VP of Advancement to develop strategies to engage, solicit, and steward these prospects, maximizing existing relationships within the organization and seeking opportunities to cultivate new relationships. Prepare and submit regular grant reports including progress reports.
Visit with corporate and foundations leaders and with the VP of Advancement and CEO. Facilitate visits with the VP of Advancement and CEO. Manage United Way partnership including timing and deadlines. Oversee the United Way giving program. Maintain notes and interactions in Raiser?s Edge database.
When other fundraising opportunities come up, be willing to help. Cultivate, solicit and steward a portfolio of individual prospects and donors.
Education: Bachelor's Degree required. Master's degree in public administration, public health or related field a plus.
Previous Experience: 5 years minimum experience working in major gift development, with current giving and/or planned giving. Demonstrated past success in securing grant funding required with experience fundraising for a healthcare organization. Experience with Raiser's Edge preferred.
Knowledge/Training: Knowledge of Atlanta funding community, a plus; experience and solid knowledge. Knowledge of fundraising concepts and appropriate solicitation techniques. Knowledge of grant writing processes. Knowledge of budget processes. Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills. Interpersonal / human relations skills. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision. Ability to use word processing, database and spreadsheet programs. Ability to maintain confidentiality. Raiser's Edge certification preferred.
