Quality Improvement LPN
The Quality Improvement Nurse trains, teaches and evaluates staff in accordance with FHMG’s quality improvement strategy. This position assists Administration in assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating knowledge development and practice improvement in accordance with FHMG clinical quality initiatives. The Quality Improvement Nurse promotes and performs continuous quality improvement monitoring and compiles the data for trend analysis and reporting so quality action plans can be developed and implemented. Implements the quality action plans and reports back to the CNO for revisions and other problem resolution. Monitors staff compliance with the written policies and procedures. Develops, plans, conducts, and documents effective training for clinical staff. Maintains in-service attendance records, competencies, classroom and make-up work, and curriculum and test inventories. Manages staff certification and education to meet state survey requirements. Partners with others in planning the training programs, curriculum, and activities. Assists in standardizing the methods in which training assignments will be accomplished. Maintains a comprehensive Infection Prevention Program with surveillance, documentation / trending, analysis of the data and monthly reports which are provided to the CNO for action. Assists with problem identification and resolution. Provides Infection prevention training and oversees that equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE) are used properly following infection prevention policies and standards of practice guidelines from the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
Must be able to sit, walk, climb, stand, turn, twist, bend, stoop, kneel, reach, lift at least 25 lbs., carry, finger, hold, talk, see with a good field of vision, and hearing; Communicate on the telephone and directly with nurses, doctors or MAs; read paperwork, printouts and computer screens; Requires manual dexterity sufficient to maintain files, operate a keyboard, calculator, telephone, copier and other small desk equipment and computer.
· Graduate of an accredited nursing program required
· Excellent communication skills and the ability to develop strong professional relationships with Office Managers, staff and physicians and the ability to teach others is required.
· Must be dedicated to quality and prior experience in a physician office is strongly preferred.
· Prior experience with Performance Improvement, Quality Assessment and Assurance, and Regulatory Management preferred.
· Minimum of five years in one of the following areas: clinical nursing, health information management, or other clinical/hospital specialty is preferred.
· Demonstrates ability to communicate by reading, writing legibly, speaking and comprehending English effectively in order to carry out job requirements.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:
· Graduate of an accredited nursing program
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:
· Experience in Performance Improvement, Quality Assessment and Assurance or Regulatory Management
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION OR REGISTRATION REQUIRED:
· Florida LPN License
· BLS Certification
