This role will lead a talented team of D&I practitioners, leadership development managers, organizational development managers and talent & performance consultants across the organization. In this role, you will develop and integrate meaningful programs at scale that change human behavior and deliver on business outcomes. You will partner with HR colleagues, business leaders, and key stakeholders to design and execute consistent impactful employee experiences across talent, marketplace, culture and leadership. You will serve as a key diversity partner to ensure that diversity and equity remain a priority and is closely linked to the company’s overall business strategy working to execute and bring these strategies to life. The position reports to the SVP Talent, Rewards and Culture.
A day in the life...
Drive the enterprise Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging (DIB) multi-year strategy, serving as organizational change agent to actively partner with executive leadership embedding DIB goals as a key driver of sustained business results
Lead efforts for strategic partnerships to enhance the Marketplace pillar deliverables Benchmark with world-class industry practices for approaches to advance DIB initiatives
Collaborate with key stakeholders to assess leadership challenges and capability gaps and implement programs and experiences to address those challenges across all levels
Responsible for delivering innovative yet practical talent solutions that help drive performance in a dynamic and rapidly changing business environment
Drive and support talent management strategy through enterprise wide leadership development solutions, building people capability and succession planning
Demonstrate expertise as innovator and thought leader that brings out-of-the-box learning solutions to build organizational skills, competencies and effectiveness and deliver business outcomes
Serve as consultant and key partner to build organizational capability and drive large-scale, complex change and transformation
Inspire a team of professionals to leverage peer and industry best practices to continuously improve
Stay current on industry practices and issues, assessing and communicating their potential impact on the business
Facilitate change and evolution of people, how we work, and organizational capability
You own this if you have...
10+ years of experience leading human resources teams
10+ years’ experience in a Diversity & Inclusion, Talent Management, and/or Organizational Effectiveness leadership capacity
Experience working with multiple stakeholders to develop multi-year strategy plans, identify appropriate resources and partnerships needed, and develop milestones to ensure continued progress and delivery of desired outcomes
Excellent interpersonal skills and demonstrated ability to effectively build and manage relationships with cross-functional colleagues and business leaders across multiple functions
Strong presentation skills and ability to confidently interact with Nordstrom Executive Team and Board
Advanced program and project management skills, and ability to operationalize and scale programs. Experience effectively partnering with business teams to build effective programs and strategies
A highly effective communicator with the ability to clearly and concisely articulate ideas, concepts, and proposals to engage team, peers, and leadership
Ability to influence a broad group of stakeholders, partners, and senior leaders without direct authority – a team-oriented consensus builder who understands how to achieve buy-in from different leaders, builds bridges, and designs “win-win” solutions across a large, matrixed organization
Demonstrated knowledge of and experience with a variety of functional partners, with a history of successful partnerships
Strong team development and change leadership experience
Experience leading in highly cross functional and matrixed environment
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience. Master’s Degree in Organizational Development or Industrial & Organizational Psychology highly preferred

Candidates outside of the Seattle area will be considered; this position can be full-time remote
There may be about 10% travel required in the future when the context is safer
