Position will perform faculty duties in the Academic Success Center and the Department of English and Fine Arts to include undergraduate teaching in reading, composition, and communication. Will provide supplemental/extra instruction in English and other related subjects to include Writing Center consultations in both individual and in group sessions. Will promote professional activities in area of specialization, advises students, and participate in curriculum development and writing assessment.
Occasional travel - You may be expected to travel for this position.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: The appointment requires an earned doctorate to be completed by employment start date in composition, rhetoric, linguistics, literacy theory, or a related field. Evidence of teaching experience and scholarly potential is required. Essential qualities expected of every faculty member include the personal attributes of integrity, industry, cooperation, initiative, and breadth of intellectual interests. Applicants must be a U.S. citizen.
ACADEMIC DISCIPLINES: Composition, rhetoric, linguistics, literacy theory, or a related field.
DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS: An earned Ph.D. in composition, rhetoric, linguistics, literacy theory, or a related field. An ideal candidate will have demonstrated experience teaching freshman composition, technical writing, or related writing-intensive courses at the college level.
Demonstrated evidence of teaching excellence at the college level for at least 5 years. Experience in teaching writing for STEM disciplines, multimodal composition, technical writing, and/or ESL is desired. Evidence of recent publications and presentations in professional venues that demonstrate an ongoing scholarly and/or creative agenda. Demonstrated contributions to Writing Across the Curriculum.
Excellent communication skills (oral and written), motivation, interpersonal skills, compassion, and ability to work with students possessing a wide range of backgrounds and academic abilities. Demonstrated record of building cooperation and collaboration across students and faculty.
Preferred Position Qualifications include: Experience working with ESL and/or international student writing programs; experience teaching technical writing; or experience teaching professional/public communication courses.

Education completed in foreign colleges or universities may be used to meet the educational requirements. Tax Law Impact for PCS: On 22-Dec-2017, Public Law 115-97 - the "Tax Cuts and Jobs Act of 2017 suspended qualified moving expense deductions along with the exclusion for employer reimbursements and payments of moving expenses effective 01-Jan-2018 for tax years 2018 through 2025. The law made taxable certain reimbursements and other payments, including driving mileage, airfare and lodging expenses, en-route travel to the new duty station, and temporary storage of those items. The Federal Travel Regulation Bulletin (FTR) 18-05 issued by General Services Administration (GSA) has authorized agencies to use the Withholding Tax Allowance (WTA) and Relocation Income Tax Allowance (RITA) to pay for "substantially all" of the increased tax liability resulting from the "2018 Tax Cuts and Jobs Act" for certain eligible individuals.
