Apply strong knowledge of statistical algorithms and predictive models to investigate problems, detect patterns and recommend solutions.
Contribute to the design, development, and application of data mining, statistical analysis, language modeling, and machine learning.
Collaborate with software engineers, within an agile development environment, to implement, test, and apply mathematical algorithms from research.
BA/BS degree in Applied Math / Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
Experience using SAS, MatLab, R, or Python to manipulate large datasets and develop statistical models.
MS or PhD degree in Applied Math / Statistics, Computer Science or related field.
Moderate proficiency with object-oriented programming languages such as Java, C#, or C++, and general knowledge in software design methods, data structures, and modelling standards.
Knowledge of data management in a Hadoop environment, including use of HIVE or Pig; experience with techniques for parallel, distributed computing over big data.
Understanding of machine learning techniques (e.g., Support Vector Machines, Artificial Neural Networks) and has experience using machine learning to build computational models from large data sets.
