Full Job Description
Under general supervision, performs routine and non-routine duties requiring knowledge of checks and negotiable instruments clearing through the bank system. Researches and mails statements and other records on member accounts as required by subpoenas or other orders to produce records. Obtains information from and provides information to branch offices concerning checks, statements and related matters. Performs duties related to the clearing of on-us checks and ACH items.

Must maintain the Credit Union's policies regarding Standards of Conduct and Confidentiality.
Responsible for compliance with all policies and procedures regarding negotiable items and ACH Processing, including OFAC, BSA/AML.
Performs duties related to Courtesy Pay including closing accounts due to negative shares, reporting to ChexSystems and data monitoring to Account Services Manager monthly.
Performs variety of duties relating to item/negotiables processing. This includes balancing NSF reports/transaction, tracking accounts for NSF abuses, processing letters and closures in accordance with established procedures. Additionally, performs reviews and processes Item Return Deposits.
Performs duties related to payroll processing, including posting payrolls, processing payroll requests, and processing Share and credit card Transfer Authorization forms.
Reviews and processes the daily share exception report. Responsible for daily balancing of Inclearings and Return Items.
Performs duties related to ACH Processing, including review and process of daily ACH exceptions reports and daily balancing of ACH Clearings. Additionally, researched differences and ensures adjustments are made in a timely manner.
Perform Quality Controls on completed ACH and item/check “Stop Payment Request” forms for accuracy.
Quality Control on completed Written Statement of Unauthorized Debit (ACH) forms for accuracy.
Assists branch staff with problem situations and encoding errors on member accounts. Performs account adjustments for encoding errors and improper ACH postings. Maintains files with complete and accurate detailing of account adjustments, including correspondence to payees for processing errors and refunding of fees.
Receives and processes requests for check copies and statements.
Reviews and processes daily Dormant Account Activity Report for mitigating potential fraud.
Perform basic teller transactions, including processing incoming mail; posting loan payments and share deposits, and responding to member inquiries and requests. Cross-sells additional product/services to new and existing members.
Assist Account Services Manager with IRA program administration, including transmitting IRA documentation to Ascensus, IRA reporting of 1099 R, and Form 5498 transmission to the IRS.
Assist Account Services Representatives and Officer as backup for other positions as necessary.
This job has no supervisory responsibilities.
MINIMUM EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
ALL EMPLOYEES MUST QUALIFY FOR AND MAINTIAN A FIDELITY BOND
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Requires two to three years’ Financial Institution experience and the ability to learn the functions of related departments such as; New Accounts, IRA’s, Member Services, etc.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Personal computer skills required with proficiency in Word, Excel. Must have broad knowledge of principles and practices and laws governing financial services. Must be able to operate basic office equipment and PC with Windows application. Must have thorough knowledge of the Federal Reserve settlement processing, and the Credit Union data processing system. Must be familiar with the Truth-in-Savings and Electronic Funds Disclosure and Credit Union products and services.
Must possess excellent oral and written communication skills. Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, members, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual English/Spanish desired.
Must have ability to balance accounts and make mathematical computations. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to balance accounts and make mathematical computations.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to remain in a stationary sitting position 75% of the time. The person in the position must communicate constantly with members via telephone in order to convey information about their account and you must be able to exchange accurate information with them. You are occasionally required to traverse across the office or first floor to access files. You will constantly operate computer equipment using a keyboard, 10 touch keypads and other like office equipment to accurately calculate figures and input data. You will sometimes have to ascend/descend or position yourself to crouch or kneel for items on the floor. The employee must frequently move up to 10 pounds and occasionally move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
