GUC is searching for a dynamic Engineer to join our Electric Department. The ideal candidate will have the following qualifications:

A Bachelor of Science Degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology from an ABET accredited college or university.
Entry level up to five years of electrical engineering experience working for an electric utility or engineering firm.
Certification as an Engineering in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer (PE) in the State of North Carolina.

Job Responsibilities Include:
Engineering and construction design duties of GUC’s electric transmission and distribution systems.
Performs engineering review of consultant or contractor submittals
Assist the Electric Distribution Engineer, Electric Engineering Coordinator and other engineering personnel with design and cost analysis for electric system expansion and system improvement projects.
Provides technical support to field operations crews.
Performing operational analysis and strategic planning relative to improving the overall efficiency and effectiveness of the electric distribution system.
Develop and maintain engineering and operations standards and procedures for the Electric Department.
Calculates sag and tensioning requirements for overhead conductor installation.
Calculates pulling tension and reviews pulling method prior to underground cable installation.
Position is open until filled.
