Filler Operator-Aseptic
West Campus
Front Half Days: Sun, Mon, Tues, Every other Weds: 6:00am-6:00pm

Position Summary: Responsible for the proper set-up of packaging equipment and process system for Aseptic packaging operation. Monitors and operates continuous packaging equipment while ensuring required parameters are met. Performs clean up and sanitation duties as required.
Essential Functions:
Set-up, operate, and maintain filling machine
Perform quality checks to ensure package integrity and package quality
Perform daily and weekly operator checks
Perform nominal maintenance on equipment
Perform CIP’S and in-process sanitation on equipment and/or area as needed. Ensure CIP’s are completed to meet standard time requirements
Ensure PLMS inputs are accurate and complete. Verify % Filler PTU meets established standard line requirements
Ability to notify direct supervisor for all immediate line maintenance needs
Document all events, such as stops, starts, splices and troubleshooting

Knowledge, skills and abilities:
Ability to operate with moderate supervision, be detail oriented, and exercise independent judgment
Strong organizational, prioritization, and problem analysis skills
Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to read, write, speak and understand the English language
Strong basic math skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division)
Critical decision-making skills, creativity
Basic technology programming (database setup, setting up defaults)
Ability to push up to 300 pounds, pull up to 300 pounds and lift and/or carry up to 50 pounds frequently.
Minimum qualifications: High school degree or equivalent required. Six months plus food processing and/or production experience preferred. Must have ability to become a certified forklift operator.
Working conditions:
Extensive close work with heavy lifting, pulling, pushing and carrying in a non-climate controlled environment. Use of and exposure to: hazardous materials, high voltage, and hot pipes. Exposure to moving mechanical parts and platform work above ground is performed. The noise level is typically moderate to loud. Mandatory overtime may be required. Subject to continuous walking, standing, repetitive motions including frequent stooping, finger work, grasping with hands/wrists, reaching, bending and climbing of stairs and ladders.
