Job Description: We are looking for a seasoned MSHA Safety Professional with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a related field. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in safety management within the mining industry, with a preference for those who have specific experience in underground mining.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and oversee safety programs and protocols to ensure compliance with MSHA regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits of mining operations and facilities.
- Provide training and guidance to employees on safety procedures, hazard recognition, and emergency response.
- Investigate incidents and accidents to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
- Collaborate with management and employees to promote a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
- Maintain accurate records of safety activities, incidents, and compliance efforts.
- Stay updated on regulatory changes and industry best practices to ensure ongoing compliance and improvement of safety standards.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a safety-related role within the mining industry.
- Experience with uranium mining operations is strongly preferred.
- In-depth knowledge of MSHA regulations and requirements.
- Proven ability to develop and implement effective safety programs and initiatives.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Certification in safety management or related field is a plus.
