Shipping/Receiving Supervisor manages all warehouse functions including employees, staffing, training, safety, and equipment requirements. Responsible for order routing, communication with inside sales, and customer relations. Overall building needs including maintenance and permits.
Base compensation will range from $26.88/hr - $43.03/hr depending on experience.
45% of the time: Manage inventory control and perform inventory audits. Schedule trucks and less than truckloads as well as schedule department workload. Responsible for order routing, communication with inside sales, and customer relations.
20% of the time: Responsible for warehouse building maintenance ensuring that all equipment is in proper working order. Not limited to but includes: dock levelers, dock restraints, doors including locks, security system, HVAC systems, and floors.
20% of the time: Train new employees in the organization's operating procedures and standards. Prioritize and assign tasks so that the team's resources are used effectively and that work schedules and targets are met.
15% of the time: Lead, motivate and direct employees using effective performance management techniques, including establishing expectations and goals, providing recognition and feedback, and addressing performance problems. Coach, encourage, and develop employees according to their unique interests and strengths. Empower employees to take responsibility for their career and performance. Delegate responsibility and expect accountability and regular feedback. Foster a spirit of teamwork and unity among department members and the organization.
Bachelor Degree (B.A./B.S.) preferred.
Simpson Strong-Tie Powered Industrial Truck (PIT) Certification (will certify at hire) required.
5 years related warehouse and logistics experience and / or training; or equivalent combination of education and training
3 years managing others

Problem Solving: Able to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of situations where only limited standardization exists.
Technical: Working knowledge of Microsoft Office and Simpson computer applications.
Equipment: Operate pallet jacks, forklifts and reach trucks.
Mathematical Reasoning: Able to apply basic algebraic and geometric concepts. Able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide whole numbers, fractions, and decimal equivalents.
Analysis/Reasoning: Able to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
Communication: Able to effectively communicate in group settings and one-on-one, with all departments and at all levels within the organization.
Prioritization: Proven ability to prioritize work.
Leadership: Proven ability to effectively lead by motivating, coaching and mentoring team members. Proven ability to prioritize work and champion change. Willing to compassionately hold others accountable and to be held accountable.
This job requires domestic travel, 10% of the time.
