Job Title: Production Trainer
Department: All production departments
Reports To: Production Manager
FLSA Status: Exempt
Supervise the work of others: Yes

Position Summary:
Responsible for delivering training to new and existing production operators in all aspects of manufacturing, maintaining records of all training including documents and updates, implementing new training procedures, assuring adherence to our Quality System, and providing hands-on training in assembly to developing training materials and utilizing multiple forms of training media.

Duties and Responsibilities:
This list is not comprehensive but meant to represent the most common or important duties of the position. Other duties are required and/or assigned

Plan, develop, and deliver technical training sessions to manufacturing employees.
Assist in training employees in the department
Make recommendation to engineering to simplify procedures and process and to increase quality and/or efficiency.
Ensure all department personnel are following manufacturing procedures
Use of manual and semiautomatic fixtures
Follow instructions and procedures accurately and precisely
Communicate manufacturing/quality issues with Engineering/Quality and operators
Ensure smooth transfers of technology and product revisions/introductions from Engineering to Production
Maintain open lines of communication between all shifts and levels of the organization.
Review paperwork; ensure operators are filling paperwork out correctly
Uphold company policies
Work with management to ensure company goals and policies are met
Additional or extended work hours may be required
Other duties as assigned
Evaluate the effectiveness of training activities.
Develop training materials.
Document training events.
Compile and publish training metrics.
Develop and review training plans and curricula.
Identify potential quality problems, compliance gaps, and possible process efficiency improvements to production management.
Keep associates motivated and on task
Communicate with supervisors to develop training schedules and identify areas of improvement
Conduct yourself as a model employee
Assign work to department personnel and ensure efficient product flow
Effectively communicate quality or personnel issues to supervisors/managers/engineers
Make sure all parts and orders are in compliance with assembly instructions to specific guidelines

Required Experience:Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent (advanced degree or training preferred)
Experience training in a manufacturing or vocational environment
Experience with MS Office and Access applications
Experience scheduling operator machine time
Experience delivering technical training sessions.
Experience developing training materials, including presentations.
Experience creating group training session records.
Experience compiling and publishing training metrics.
Demonstrated communication and presentation skills.
Demonstrated attention to detail, organization and time management skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work different shifts for months at a time to train employees working on each shift.

Language Skills:
Ability to read, and interpret technical procedures in English
Ability to effectively communicate in English

Mathematical Skills:
Ability to apply concepts of basic math

Reasoning Ability:
Ability to solve practical problems and interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Ability to handle and manipulate small components. Ability to see items 1/32" or smaller, good eye-hand coordination, ability to handle repetitive tasks.
Lab coats, hair nets, beard covers (if applicable), and shoe covers must be worn,
Availability: primarily 1st shift (7:00-3:30), but flexibility in schedule for 2nd and 3rd shift training and weekends is expected.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required: Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and facilitate teamwork.

Equipment Used: Pneumatic gauges, pin gauges, digital calipers, computers, barcode scanners, testing equipment
