Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced and knowledgeable Compliance Officer to join our prestigious organization. In this critical role, you will ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and EPA hazardous waste requirements. We value your existing expertise in OSHA and EPA compliance and will provide you with comprehensive training from industry-leading consultants in food safety compliance as per 21 CFR 111 and 117.
You will be based in Hudson CO, working closely with teams at multiple locations to provide comprehensive compliance support. This position requires in person work in Hudson CO with occasional travel to Boerne TX, where you will engage with site personnel, conduct audits and inspections, deliver training sessions, and address compliance-related challenges.
Roles and Responsibilities:
- Develop, implement, and maintain compliance programs for OSHA safety regulations and EPA hazardous waste requirements.
- Conduct assessments and audits to evaluate workplace safety practices, chemical handling procedures, and hazardous waste management processes.
- Provide expert guidance and training to employees on OSHA safety requirements, including hazard communication, PPE, and emergency response protocols.
- Ensure proper storage, labeling, and disposal of hazardous materials in compliance with EPA regulations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess and mitigate potential chemical and safety hazards in manufacturing processes.
- Stay up-to-date with regulatory changes, industry best practices, and emerging trends in chemical hygiene, OSHA compliance, and EPA hazardous waste management.
- Coordinate with external consultants for specialized training in food safety compliance as per 21 CFR 111 and 117.
- Serve as the primary contact for compliance-related inquiries, inspections, and audits by regulatory agencies.
- Develop and implement corrective actions to address compliance incidents, deviations, and safety hazards.
- Contribute to the development of comprehensive emergency response plans and procedures.
- Work closely with other compliance professionals to ensure a holistic approach to overall compliance within the organization.
Qualifications:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a closely related field.
- Experience:
- Extensive knowledge and proven expertise in OSHA safety regulations, chemical hygiene practices, and EPA hazardous waste requirements.
- 3+ years of experience in compliance-focused roles within chemical manufacturing environments.
- Experience managing regulatory inspections and audits (preferred).
- Familiarity with food safety compliance as per 21 CFR 111 and 117 (preferred).
- Skills:
- Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Adaptability to evolving regulations and the ability to manage multiple projects.
- Certifications: Relevant certifications in Occupational Health and Safety, such as Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), are highly regarded.
