Project Description: This position will be under the Weapons Planning System (WPS) program. The program includes development and maintenance of the following common components (CCs): Precision Guided Munitions Planning Software (PGMPS), JMPS Targeting Manager (JTM), and Network Enabled Weapons (NEW) CC. The WPS software common components support planning of all USAF Conventional Precision Guided Weapons using Joint Mission Planning System (JMPS)-Based Common Components (CC). WPS CCs are also used to support the planning of a growing list of Network Enabled Precision Guided Weapons.
WPS components integrate with fighter and bomber aircraft Mission Planning Environments (MPE) to provide a complete mission planning package for the various aircraft operational communities. WPS is used by F-15, F-16, F-22, F-35, B-1, B-2, B-52 and other aircraft operational units worldwide, including foreign nations flying those aircraft.
Job Description: Configuration Management responsibilities will include assisting with the planning and tracking of software development and testing activities to include generating and evaluating reports, incorporating baseline changes and conducting baseline audits to ensure quality products are released. Plans and coordinates preparation of project documentation to ensure customer contract requirements are met. Reviews contract to determine documentation required for each phase of project, applying knowledge of engineering processes. Analyzes proposed changes of product design to determine effect on overall product and system. Coordinates modification records for management control. Establishes change orders and prepares for change authorization and documentation by company. Reviews and analyzes released engineering change data and coordinates changes with engineering, quality, support, and engineering data control activities.
Education/Experience Requirements: Bachelor’s with 6 years’ experience; Master’s with 4 years’ experience or 10 years’ relative experience.
Clearance Requirement: US Citizenship required with an active Secret clearance or a US Citizen eligible for a security clearance.
