Works within the inmate programs section of the Fairfax County Adult Detention Center. This position performs a variety of support activities, including but not limited to overseeing and maintaining the law library and supervising circulation functions. Supervises inmates and volunteers while performing duties in the library. Assists in the operations of the library.

High school graduation or possession of a GED issued by a state department of education; plus, two years of full-time experience or the equivalent amount of part-time library or customer service experience.
CERTIFICATES AND LICENSES REQUIRED:
Experience working in corrections or a law enforcement environment preferred.
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENT:
The appointee to the position will be required complete to a public safety criminal background check to include a polygraph examination and TB test to the satisfaction of the employer.
Must be able to follow written and oral instructions; and have the ability to communicate effectively, both orally and written. Must be able to lift 50 pounds without assistance. Must be able to push a cart filled with books. All duties are performed with or without reasonable accommodation.
