Southeast Nebraska Cancer Center (SNCC) currently has an opening for a Board-Certified/Board Eligible Medical Physicist to join our growing Radiation Oncology department in Lincoln, Nebraska. Lincoln is the state’s capital and second largest city in Nebraska. It offers a thriving university-town atmosphere with exciting sports, entertainment, restaurants and great quality of life. SNCC is the largest cancer treatment center in Lincoln and it also provides care at 12 outreach sites throughout rural Nebraska. Multiple cancer service lines are available under one roof, bringing together medical oncology, radiation oncology, genetic counseling, palliative care, nurse navigators, sub-specialty oncology care and clinical research. Staff includes 7 Medical Oncologists, 2 Radiation Oncologists, 2 Physicists and 2 Dosimetrists.
General Summary of Duties: This individual will share responsibilities with other members of the Physics Team to ensure the overall clinical needs of the Radiation Oncology Department are being met. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work as a team player are essential. Integrity and attention to details is a must. This individual will work with the following equipment: one Varian Trilogy and one Siemens Oncor Plus accelerator, a GE DiscoveryRT CT with respiratory motion management, Eclipse treatment planning, Aria R&V system, and MIM image management and contouring software. SNCC also provides physics support for an in-town hospital equipped with a Siemens Oncor Plus accelerator, an Elekta HDR with Oncentra treatment planning, and a Gamma Knife Perfexion.
