Job Summary:
The Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City’s Community Development team is seeking a Community Development Specialist to work closely with senior staff in implementing community development and stakeholder engagement initiatives in communities across the Tenth District. The ideal candidate will have strong interpersonal and analytical skills.

Key Activities:
Working closely with the Senior Community Development Advisor(s), the Community Development Specialist will:

Assist in creation of presentations, reports and speeches for senior community development staff and officers.
Write original content for presentation to internal and external audiences.
Independently generate ideas for content on community development-related topics.
Assist with and implement programs, projects and events. Examples include trainings and forums for community organizations and bankers.
Develop relationships with targeted internal and external partners.
Provide analysis and problem-solving skills to support programming, content and relationship building. Examples include: Contact management, research of potential partners, programmatic measurement and evaluation.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and/or directly related work experience.
Direct work experience with the Community Reinvestment Act or community development is preferred.
An educational background in urban or community planning, public policy, public administration or a closely related field.
Two to four years of related work experience.
Strong analytical, problem solving and customer service skills.
Moderate verbal and written communication; presentation; interpersonal; and project management skills.
Good computer skills in Microsoft Office, Internet, email and applicable business line applications.
Understanding of graphic, social media, web design and customer relationship management tools a plus.
