The Closed-end Fund (CEF) Product Manager will support all aspects of Franklin Templeton’s CEF business. The Product Manager will work closely with specialist investment managers, distribution and marketing to competitively position our product line, provide institutional and retail client service and often serve as the first point of contact for general questions on the investment strategies and products. The Product Manager will be actively engaged product initiatives and the support of management and the board of directors.
What are the ongoing responsibilities of the CEF Product Manager?
Collaborate cross-functionally with departments and specialist investment managers to successfully implement product initiatives and deliverables.
Track industry trends/developments, analyze the product line to ensure competitiveness, prepare reports, and make recommendations for product actions.
Prepare and deliver updates and presentations to management and the board of directors.
Maintain in-depth knowledge of investment strategies to effectively answer client servicing questions, articulate investment manager views, and respond to performance issues and other investment-related issues on the CEF product line.
Educate internal and external audiences on investment strategies and products. Articulate investment philosophy, process and outlook, as well as performance and positioning of specific products.
Respond to market events by providing written and verbal communication to be delivered directly and indirectly (through sales and client service) with clients.
Cultivate relationships with distribution partners, institutional investors, financial advisors, and key industry influencers.
Participate in sponsored industry events and conferences as needed.
What ideal qualifications, skills and experience would help someone to be successful?
Bachelor’s degree required, MBA a plus.
5+ years product management or other pertinent industry experience
Knowledge of closed-end funds and comprehensive understanding of the capital markets and industry trends.
Series 7 and 63 licenses preferred. CFA a plus.
Self-driven with a positive attitude and a team player
Detail and results-oriented, with strong organizational and project management skills.
Excellent client service, presentation, and oral/written communication skills.
Able to work effectively under pressure in a fast-paced environment
