Summary

Marine Corps Community Services (MCCS) is looking for the best and brightest to join our Team! MCCS is a comprehensive program that supports and enhances the quality of life for Marines, their families, and others in the Marine Corps Community. Responsibilities

The incumbent’s responsibility, first and foremost, is to lead by example, to shape and sustain a working environment most conducive to the successful performance of those entrusted to his/her leadership and direction; creating a positive atmosphere and culture within the Services Division and its constituent branches that reflects the pride, professionalism, sense of accomplishment, fulfillment, collaborative engagement, well-being, and wholehearted customer focus of its employees is the incumbent’s essential purpose and focus of main effort.

Responsible for assisting the Director, Services Division in the management of the Service Division. Reports directly to the Director, Services Division. Responsible for assisting the Director in developing Service Division business strategies, ensuring policy and procedural compliance, measuring the organization’s performance and correcting failing strategies. Responsible for assisting the Director in all aspects of fiscal activities for the Services Division including the development and administration of an overall operating budget through subordinate managers. Plans, reviews, interpret, and implements policies established by higher authority. Through subordinate managers resolvers financial, personnel and operational problems that impact on the effectiveness of Services Division programs. In absence of the Director, may represent the Services Division to members of the community, other organizations, and other commands on matters concerning the Services Division projects and programs. Sets priorities and establishes methods and time frames for accomplishment of Services Division projects.

Directly or indirectly through subordinate supervisors supervises employees. Counsels and trains employees, schedules and directs work, appraises work performance. Approves and disapproves leave, and personnel actions. Must be alert to substance abuse and take appropriate action. Effectively supports the Marine Corps Equal Employment Opportunity and Sexual Harassment policies, and ensures compliance with fire, safety, and other environmental issues and programs. Maintains and enforces security of funds, merchandise, supplies and equipment to preclude or minimize the potential for fraud, waste and abuse.

Provides World Class Customer Service with an emphases on courtesy. Assists with customers and communicates positively in a friendly manner. Takes action to solve problems quickly. Alerts the higher-level supervisor, or proper point of contact for help when problems arise. Ensures implementation of an activity safety program in accordance with the Base Safety Program. Advise employees of available safety regulations, instructions, materials and equipment. Promptly reports workplace accidents/injury to the Human Resources Office. Ensures that safety training is provided to employees. Complies with OSHA standards and takes action to correct unsafe or unhealthy working conditions. Ensures employees understand safety infractions that can result in disciplinary actions, and follows through with appropriate action. Ensures minimal loss of duty by complying with “Return to Work” program initiatives, and following up on employee well being.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in Business Management or a related field appropriate to the work of the position AND three years of supervisory experience in the occupation, or related field or work area, OR an appropriate combination of education and experience that demonstrates possession of knowledge and skill equivalent to that gained in the above OR appropriate experience that demonstrates that the applicant has acquired the knowledge, skills, and abilities equivalent to that gained in the above. Must have effective writing and oral presentation skills and ability to communicate with all levels. This is a white-collar position where occasional lifting up to 20 lbs may be required.
