About the Position: This position is with the 88th Readiness Division, Reserve Personnel Action Center, Wichita Satellite KS083 located in Hays, Kansas.
New Army Reserve Military Technicians may be authorized moving expenses to their first official duty station. To be eligible to receive moving expenses, you must be a newly appointed Federal civilian employee or have a minimum of a 3 day break in service from previous Federal civilian employment.
Provide advice regarding personnel/pay matters to supported soldiers
Review military pay account transactions and reports for soldiers
Train co-workers on use of automated systems
Create, update, and delete data in a variety of files for compliance requirements
Develops reports of rejects, trends, and statistical material for supervisor
Review, process, audit and edit complex pay/personnel actions for soldiers
Resolve pay issues for customers
Research and analyze a variety of information sources for personnel requirements
Controls and monitors suspense files and correspondence files for Administrative Activities
Provides technical advice for officers and enlisted personnel
Occasional travel - The business travel requirement is 10%

Permanent Change of Station (PCS) allowances may be authorized, subject to the provisions of the Joint Travel Regulations and an agency determination that a PCS move is in the Government Interest.

If selected for a developmental grade level, this recruitment provides promotion opportunity to the target grade of the position without further competition (non-competitive promotion potential).
This position offers a $5,000 recruitment bonus to individuals who are newly appointed as civilians in the Federal Government. You are considered newly appointed if this is your first appointment as a civilian employee in the Federal Government or if you have a minimum of a 90-day break in service from a previous Federal civilian position. You may qualify with a break in service of less than 90 days only if your previous Federal civilian appointment was a time-limited or not permanent appointment. Your recruitment bonus will be made in two payments. You receive the first payment of $3,000 when you enter on duty, second payment of $2,000 at your first year anniversary. To accept this recruitment bonus, you are required to make a four year service obligation to the Army Reserve Military Technician Program. If you fail to serve the specified period, you may be subject to repay the agency the recruitment incentive.
