The Parks Maintenance Worker is generally responsible for the maintenance and improvement of city parks and green spaces. Working on a team of six full-time maintenance workers and equipment operators under the supervision of the Park Superintendent, this position focuses on turf, forestry and landscape maintenance; special event support; facilities maintenance; and snow and ice removal. This position primarily operates pickups and trailers; zero-turn radius mowers; small dump trucks; and various hand and power tools.
Required: 18 Years or Older with a High School Diploma or G.E.D., a valid driver’s license and a pre-employment drug and physical screening and the ability to work Monday to Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. including possible overtime for callouts, snow removal and special event support.
Preferred Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have the ability to obtain a Class B commercial driver’s license within 90 days of employment. Training, equipment and testing expenses are provided. 1+ years of experience working in an outdoor or construction setting and/or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
