- High school diploma or equivalent is required
- Customer service skills are required

Reporting to the Director of Emergency Services, maintains all aspects of Emergency Department Medical Records (reviews for completeness, entering charges, departing and distributing charts, computer entry and discharge analysis). Responsible for all reception, clerical duties, transcription of medical orders and ensures accuracy and timeliness of all data/charges entered into the computer system. Maintains logs, answers multiple telephones and coordinates resource procurements (i.e.ambulances, helicopter transport, specimens, etc.). May function as P.A.R. (Patient Access Representative), as needed. Responsible for accurate entry of patient charges and reconciliation of patient accounts. Will coordinate work with Charge Master Committee
Ability to read, write and comprehend English and Math at 12th Grade level, including professional verbal and written communication skills.
High School Diploma or equivalent required
Ability to type at least 35wpm with demonstrated computer ability and knowledge of Meditech order entry, charge and order screens.
Current knowledge of Medical Terminology required - Must have successfully completed a Medical Terminology course within the past 2 years (or be able to pass Medical Terminology exam equivalent to Medical Terminology course final exam at time of interview).
Ability to multi-task and maintain a quick pace while maintaining a positive, enthusiastic attitude in a critical care environment.
Demonstrated ability to organize self and environment; legible handwriting. Must enjoy fast paced environment.
Demonstrated critical thinking skills required.
Previous Emergency Department Coordinator experience is required.
As with all job assignments, staff may be floated to areas where they are needed.
